Fir-Spruce

Standards

Quality logs, sound, straight, without forks and freshly cut. Logs smaller than 5 inches will  be measured by rope only.

No Norway spruce. No field marbles.

Indicate on the transport ticket the mode of measurement desired: by rope or by mpmp.

Standards

The sawmill pays separate prices for spruce and balsam fir. All limbs should be cut flush with the trunk.

Broken stems and tops, butt splinters and splits, burnt stems, forked tops, excessive crooking and sweeping, and dead shafts are considered out-of-specification defects.
